“…I feel Batel’s involvement in the production of our performance was both essential and enlightening. Her expertise and love of choreography really shone through in her implementation of effective and considerate tactile cues between the performers and through the emphasis of a clear, inclusive and engaging style. And I think these skills were also shown through her support for a less experienced choreographer, all while being pregnant! I’m proud to say the piece was presented to the general public in two shopping centres within the South West during June 2011. Highly recommended.”

“Having had a long association with ballet and contemporary dance I have for some time held the view that Bristol needed to create a more vibrant contemporary dance scene and when I was given the opportunity to assist through my photography for Neshima I jumped at the chance.

Like all fledgling endeavors a little help can go a long way but I was immediately impressed by the enthusiasm and technical skills of the whole team to produce high quality professional artistic results.

My background is as a professional designer and I have run for the last 25 years an award winning commercial design practice in Bristol. My first love however has always been photography and I have a second parallel career and hugely enjoy the technical and artistic challenges that brings.

Neshima’s previous outreach programmes into schools have been hugely rewarding and challenging but seeing and recording on camera the results of young and wonderfully enthusiastic students, being given access to unimagined horizons has been reward in its self.

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in being involved with future Neshima projects. Their work is vital to the cultural heartbeat of this City “
